Andy Warhol, When will you come back home?

Ryan Adams-When will you come back home.

“Every song has a memory; every song has the ability to make or break your heart, shut down the heart, and open the eyes. But I’m afraid if you look at a thing long enough; it loses all of its meaning”  ~Andy Warhol

I’m the type who’d be happy not going anywhere as long as I was sure I knew exactly what was happening at the places I wasn’t going to. I’m the type who’d like to sit home and watch every party that I’m invited to on a monitor in my bedroom.

People need to be made more aware of the need to work at learning how to live because life is so quick and sometimes it goes away too quickly.

(We wish these labels were around when we staged the house on Delaware! How cool that would have been. We might be highlighting that 1910 remodel some day in the near future, with ‘Before and After’ shots chronicling our work.)

“When people are ready to, they change. They never do it before then, and sometimes they die before they get around to it. You can’t make them change if they don’t want to, just like when they do want to, you can’t stop them.”

i love literally EVERYTHING about this post!! and as you can tell by my dressing table, i’m a pretty big fan of Mr. Warhol. when Andy Warhol’s work took over our art museum here in Indy it was like the art Gods had rained down upon us. i never wanted to leave. and i love his quote that you shared “Sometimes the little times you don’t think are anything while they’re happening turn out to be what marks a whole period of your life.” i always wonder if he was referring to his relationship with Jean Michel Basquiat, (maybe my favorite artist of all time), and how they met in the street while Andy was at lunch. oh a whim Basquiat drew some things on napkins and gave them to him, and i’m sure at the time, Andy didn’t think much of it. and out of that one meeting a lifelong friendship/partnership and a series of masterful work was born! they were such a dynamic duo for the duration of time when they were together.

thank you so very much for surprising me with a photo of mine in your lovely post. oh, and i need about 4 of those doggie portraits :) By Fryd is one of my favorite blogs, and she does the loveliest vignettes! i am in love with every one of the decor photos today. and that puppy has my heart! oxo
