Picasso's Blue Period (1901-1904) began with a journey through Spain and the suicide of a friend. He became depressed and painted in blue hues and austere colors and his subject matter was often of the downtrodden of society.

We introduce to you our favorite piece of 20th Century Design…Feather & Nest adores the Lady Chair created by Marco Zanuso (top right photo is in the lovely home of Kristen Meckem of F&N). We might also mention our great love for the Jackie-O shades, houndstooth and the ever-adorable pooch!Girl with Dog via Timony Siobhan. The second most expensive Picasso painting, Garcon a la Pipe, is a portrait of a Parisian working boy. The boy holds a pipe in his hand and wears a string of roses on his head like a crown. Picasso painted this masterpiece when he was only 24. As the colors suggest, this artwork belongs to Picasso’s Rose Period. (1904-1906)It fetched $

    so many gorgeous images in this post, i’d live in every single room! and i am in Picasso heaven here :) enjoying all of his quotes, a wonderful way to begin my Sunday. that room with the fairy lights is so beautiful. and that last all white dining photo is one of my favorite dining rooms ever!! thank you both for all of the lovely inspiration as ALWAYS! oxo
